Account & Data Deletion
Developer: ReaderML · App: ReaderML (io.github.mkhub55.readerml) · Last updated: 2026-05-11
This page explains how to delete your ReaderML account and the data associated with it.
Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open ReaderML on your device.
- Tap the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account and associated cloud data are deleted immediately.
Request deletion by email
If you can no longer sign in to the app, email us from the address linked to your Google account:
We respond within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account record (email, display name, profile photo URL from Google Sign-in)
- PDF files and notes you uploaded to ReaderML cloud storage
- Bookmarks, highlights, and reading progress synced to your account
- App preferences synced to your account
What may be retained
The following may be retained for a limited time after deletion, in line with legal and operational requirements:
- Purchase & subscription records — retained as required by tax, accounting, and Google Play Billing policies (typically up to 7 years). These records are kept by Google, not by us.
- Anonymous crash diagnostics — Firebase Crashlytics reports that are not linked to your identity (retained per Firebase defaults, up to 90 days).
- Backups — encrypted backups are purged on their normal rotation schedule (up to 30 days).
Cancel an active subscription first
Deleting your ReaderML account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel any active subscription before requesting deletion:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Select ReaderML and tap Cancel subscription.
